To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:
Minimum 7+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience
Extensive vehicle estimating experience
Extensive experience handling property damage claims
Prior experience leading, mentoring, and developing claims teams
Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices, claims handling standards, regulations, and terminology
Experience managing high-volume workloads while maintaining service and quality standards
Excellent leadership, coaching, and performance management skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, claims systems, and Windows-based applications
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, paperless environment while managing multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Total Loss leadership experience
Salvage operations experience
Material Damage management or supervisory experience
California claims handling experience
Multi-state claims handling experience
Experience managing vendor relationships, repair facilities, and appraisal operations
About the Role:
You will be responsible for leading and developing a team responsible for Total Loss, Salvage, Material Damage Specialists, and related claim operations.
Reporting directly to the Material Damage Manager, this role provides leadership, technical guidance, quality oversight, and operational support to ensure claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive property damage experience, exceptional technical expertise, and a passion for coaching teams and driving continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Material Damage Specialists, Total Loss Adjusters, Salvage Specialists, and Field Appraisers.
Monitor workload distribution and implement load-leveling strategies to improve cycle times and operational efficiency.
Conduct file audits and quality reviews to ensure compliance and consistency.
Manage employee performance, development plans, and performance evaluations.
Foster a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, training, and continuous improvement.
Claims Operations:
Ensure timely and accurate resolution of claims in accordance with company standards and industry best practices.
Oversee total loss and salvage claim handling processes.
Monitor claim quality and regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with insurance codes, including vehicle inspection requirements following repairs.
Review operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Develop, maintain, and improve claims policies, procedures, workflows, and best practices.
Create and maintain tow and storage charge surveys to assess reasonable versus unreasonable charges.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
Partner with leadership and IT teams to improve operational efficiencies and workflow automation.
Stay current on state insurance regulations and industry changes.
Training & Development:
Actively support staff training, technical development, and claims education initiatives.
Provide technical guidance to team members and claims staff.
Share best practices and promote professional growth within the department.
Reporting & Communication:
Produce clear, professional correspondence, reports, and claim documentation.
Provide leadership with accurate operational reporting and performance updates.
Escalate risks, concerns, or operational issues impacting departmental performance.
Partner closely with Human Resources on attendance, performance, and employee relations matters.

Salary Description
$80,000.00-$110,000.00 Yearly
