Job description
About Share
Share is a venture-backed startup building the global marketplace for bandwidth. We enable anyone to build their own programmable internet network, in seconds. Today, bandwidth is bought and sold through slow, private, one-off deals, with almost no price transparency. Only the largest tech companies have escaped this, by spending billions to build their own physical networks. Share is giving that power to everyone.
Infrastructure providers sell their services in the Share Marketplace, giving builders, AI agents and enterprises the ability to build their own global backbone via an API layer: the path, the performance, how long they need it, and paying only for what they use.
What you'll do
- Own our Kubernetes platform end to end. Design, run and scale multi-region clusters and the cloud infrastructure underneath them, mostly on GCP. We target 99.99% availability, and trading on the platform depends on low latency.
- Run the full stack, old and new: virtual machines in our own data centers, containers and orchestration in the cloud, and everything that connects them.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, CI/CD and GitOps, so every change gets reviewed, tested and rolled back like any other code.
- Build and run the APIs and internal tools the rest of the team builds on, so our software engineers can ship without waiting on anyone.
- Own monitoring and alerting across the platform with Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry. Catch degradation before it turns into an incident, and when something does break, lead a blameless post-mortem and make sure the fix lands in the system.
- Plan capacity and cost as traffic grows, and make the calls on IAM, cloud networking and multi-region design.
- Work alongside our systems engineer and closely with the network and software teams, and raise the bar for how the whole infrastructure team works.
What we're looking for
- At least 7 years in platform engineering, SRE or infrastructure, with production systems you were responsible for.
- Production Kubernetes under real load: deploying it, scaling it, hardening it, and debugging it when it misbehaves.
- Strong cloud experience, GCP preferred: networking, IAM, cost and capacity planning, multi-region architecture.
- Depth on both sides of the stack: production Docker and container orchestration, and virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V or similar). You're as comfortable at the VM layer as you are in a Helm chart.
- Real API design experience. You've designed, versioned and run APIs that other engineers depended on in production.
- Terraform, plus CI/CD and GitOps tools like ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.
- Enough networking to hold your own with our network team: IP routing, VPCs, DNS and load balancing.
- AI tools as part of how you work, whether that's writing code, automating ops or digging through an outage. We'd like to hear what's helped and what hasn't.
- You lead without needing the title. You take responsibility for outcomes, argue for the better design when a quick fix is tempting, and use what you learn to push the team forward.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary (top of the local market where you are located) and meaningful equity in a mission-driven, investor-backed company A high-ownership environment with a steep but well-supported learning curve, and a team that writes things down.
