Senior Backend Software Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

Fully Remote (Monthly travel to Belfast)

My remote-first client is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own their backend architecture, infrastructure, reliability, and security.

Senior Backend Software Engineer - Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain backend services with Node.js and TypeScript

-

Own AWS infrastructure (Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM)

-

Drive technical decisions and engineering best practices

-

Improve CI/CD, observability, and platform reliability

Senior Backend Software Engineer - Experience Required:

- 5+ years' backend or full-stack experience with a backend focus

-

Strong Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and PostgreSQL skills

-

Solid understanding of authentication, permissions, and API security

-

Experience with DevOps practices, CICD, and production systems

Clear communicator who is comfortable taking ownership

Senior Backend Software Engineer - Desirable Experience:

- Serverless or event-driven architectures

Media processing, file handling, or asset management experience
