What this Journey Looks Like

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a project for a fintech company based in Canada.

This is an initial 6-month engagement with a strong possibility of extension.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production application support and systems administration, with hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications across Linux and Windows environments.

Experience with IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) is highly desirable. We are particularly interested in engineers with hands-on experience in application support, automation, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and production operations.

Strong English communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with technical teams in Canada.

What You'll Lead and Build

- Provide production application support, troubleshooting application and system issues.

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and support Linux and Windows Server environments.

- Support IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) environments and related components.

- Perform and support application and system upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.

- Plan and execute production changes, including testing, validation, and rollback procedures.

- Automate recurring operational and application support tasks using Ansible and scripting tools.

- Monitor application and infrastructure health, availability, and performance.

- Investigate and resolve production incidents and perform root cause analysis.

- Participate in on-call and incident response activities when required.

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, vendor, and other technical teams.

- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

What You Bring to the Table

Must-Have

- 4+ years of experience in Application Support, Systems Administration, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar production support roles.

- Experience with IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) or similar Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms.

- Experience automating patching, upgrades, application maintenance, or health checks.

- Strong experience providing application support in production environments.

- Strong hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.

- Intermediate to advanced experience with Windows Server environments.

- Hands-on experience with patch management and production upgrades.

- Experience automating operational tasks using Ansible and/or Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

- Experience troubleshooting complex application and infrastructure issues.

- Experience with incident management and root cause analysis.

- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

- Good understanding of networking and infrastructure concepts.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent English communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed technical teams.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience with Active Directory and Windows infrastructure administration.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

- Previous experience working in fintech, financial services, or highly available production environments.
