From concept through live operations, our co-development teams work as trusted extensions of our clients' studios, contributing expertise across design, engineering, art, audio, QA, and production.

We're looking for a Web Game Developer with strong experience building browser-based games to help develop engaging, performant 2D experiences for desktop and mobile browsers. You'll work hands-on across rendering, animation, audio, responsive layouts, and performance optimization using a modern web technology stack.

This is a 3-month freelance engagement, working 40 hours per week, and is fully remote within Brazil.

Requirements

What you will be doing:

Browser Game Development

- Build and maintain 2D browser-based games using TypeScript/JavaScript, PixiJS, SolidJS, Vite, HTML5, and CSS.

- Implement game animations, transitions, and interactive experiences using tools such as GSAP.

- Integrate web audio using Howler.js and manage game assets, sprites, textures, and atlases.

Performance & Responsive Experiences

- Optimize games for performance across desktop and mobile browsers, including memory, rendering, loading, and runtime performance.

- Build responsive experiences that work across different screen sizes, resolutions, and aspect ratios.

- Use browser debugging and profiling tools to identify and resolve performance and technical issues.

Development Workflow

- Collaborate with the team using Git and established development workflows.

- Build reliable, maintainable systems that support efficient iteration and content development.

- Troubleshoot technical issues across the game, browser, and web technology stack.

What we are looking for:

- Strong professional experience developing 2D browser-based games.

- Proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript and hands-on experience with PixiJS or a comparable 2D web rendering framework.

- Experience with HTML5/CSS, SolidJS, Vite, and Git.

- Strong understanding of browser-based animation and transitions, particularly GSAP.

- Experience implementing web audio, ideally with Howler.js.

- Proven experience optimizing web games for desktop and mobile browsers.

- Strong understanding of responsive design, including different resolutions and aspect ratios.

- Experience managing sprites, textures, atlases, and other game assets.

- Comfortable using browser debugging and profiling tools to diagnose technical and performance issues.

Nice to Haves:

- Experience with Tailwind CSS.

- Testing experience with Vitest and/or Playwright.

- Familiarity with analytics and telemetry tools such as PostHog or Sentry.

- Experience with asset delivery or CDN pipelines.

- Previous experience developing casual, puzzle, or other HTML5 games.
