Responsibilities:

- Analyze complex migration scenarios, including long file paths, unsupported characters, large file volumes, permission inheritance challenges, Excel files containing macros, and other migration blockers.
- Define remediation and exception handling strategies for problematic content and establish migration standards.
- Guide and mentor the SharePoint SME in the setup, configuration, and optimization of migration tooling (Quest, ShareGate, and supporting utilities).
- Design pilot migration scenarios, success criteria, testing procedures, rollback plans, and cutover activities.
- Lead pilot migrations, review results, and adjust migration design, tooling configuration, and migration processes based on lessons learned.
- Provide technical governance during the first production migration waves and ensure adherence to quality, security, and compliance requirements.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication related to migration activities.
- Support decision-making regarding target platforms, archiving strategies, and content consolidation opportunities.
Must Haves:
- Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online architecture.
- Extensive experience with large-scale File Share to SharePoint migrations.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint information architecture, governance, permissions, metadata, retention, and compliance.
- Practical experience with ShareGate, Quest, and migration factory approaches.
- Experience designing migration waves, pilot migrations, cutover plans, and data remediation strategies.
